The wife of a man who was killed in a horror crash in Sydney’s west, has paid tribute to her husband, saying the tragedy has “shattered me into a million pieces”.

Dad-of-six Nour Marbany, 35, was a passenger in a Holden Commodore travelling along Hawksview St, Merrylands, at about 5pm on Saturday, when it collided with a Hyundai i30 which was reversing out of a driveway, according to reports.

The Holden then rolled and hit a parked HiLux ute.

Paramedics rushed to the site but were unable to save Mr Marbany, who died at the scene.

His wife, Rema Zreika, wrote a touching tribute to her husband online, as messages of condolence poured in from friends and family.

“You’ve shattered me into a million pieces. Inshallah [If God wills] I can be strong enough to raise your six kids,” she wrote.

The 23-year-old driver of the Holden was taken to Westmead Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and underwent mandatory testing.

The 37-year-old male driver of the Hyundai was not injured and underwent mandatory testing at Westmead Hospital.

The road was closed for about six hours while police carried out their investigation, with inquiries continuing.

Meanwhile residents have called for something to be done to improve safety, saying there are “always accidents on this street”.

Hawksview St resident Jemma Achi told The Daily Telegraph she heard multiple “bangs” when the car flipped.

She rushed to help the two men inside until emergency services arrived.

“It was pretty bad,” Ms Achi said.

“I comforted him [Mr Marbany] and held his hand and said, ‘Everything will be all right.’

“I am a mum and I felt for his mum. I would want someone to be there for my children.”

She continued: “There are always accidents on this street.

“Whenever there is an accident, all the neighbours come together and we all come running outside,” Ms Achi said.

“Last night people were trying to get the doors off because the men were in a bad state.

“There is an accident every six weeks.”

Another neighbour, Tommy Naati, told The Daily Telegraph one of his neighbours was reversing out of their driveway onto the road when the car Mr Marbany was in crashed into it.

“There have been so many accidents here,” he said. “That is why I don’t park my car on the street, I park it in the back.”

And another resident, Carol Malouf, who helped in the aftermath of yesterday’s crash, said she had also seen accidents on the stretch of “dangerous” road before.

“It’s an open road with two big hills and no speed bumps,” she said.

“The accident happened right at the top of the hill where drivers sometimes don’t see what’s coming.”
